Well - they finally laid me off - end of Sept 05-ish, we all knew it was only a matter of time. We were down to 5 or so users in CT. And I didnt want to take a job in NYC so they couldnt justify keeping me on anymore to support such a small staff. So was sad - end of an era so to speak... my longest gig. felt like I was at home there... oh well. Dont know what else I'll have to say in this Martha blog - but I'm sure I'll come back from time to time to update gossip or recheck the pics...
So the new gig: Contract position until aprox April 06 as a Corporate Trainer and Training Administrator at a large international company, that owns several "Adult" beverage brands, Ginss, Smrnff, Cpt Mrgn, Bailys, JoCrvo, Crwn Ryl, Jon Wlkr, .. To almost name just a few.
I am working out of their North American corp headquarters in the IS dept (best of all its 5 minutes from my son's daycare and just 8 minutes or less from my house!!). Great facility with a full cafeteria and gym and on-site bar (that opens at lunch time every day) and has weekly happy hours (featuring all the brands the company owns, of course!)
All else is well - of course I miss my Martha folks and I had to do a slight shift to get adjusted to the corp culture here after being so buried in the informality of a TV/Entertainment environment for so long. But I haven't had many "foot in my mouth" or inappropriate ADHD moments here! And one of the best parts is, I get to dress like a grown up again and am no longer crawling under desks as the tech support gruntess!!
